grow your own flower of scotland 2018
Poland
Background
The project called Grow Your Own Flower of Scotland was devised for and then launched in Poland during the Myslenice International Arts Festival 2018. The work I have created is an installation using Thistle Seeds, and can be found in and around the natural environments and parks of Myslenice. It is hoped that these seeds being the National flower and emblem of Scotland, will grow in these locations, becoming a floral legacy and a visual reminder to the people of Myslenice and beyond of links to Scotland and its people.
Specifically the project consists of 1314 individually numbered packets of Thistle Seeds, some of which will be disseminated in Myslenice, while others will be disseminated at other events and other international locations. Participants can watch the project evolve and grow via a geo map which can be accessed using the button below.

My idea
A selection of photos and videos showing my creative activity and outcomes can be seen below. The idea involved suspending the seeds in hand made jelly frogs. This was to prove that one can nail jelly to a wall or tree, and in doing so, create a slow release environmentally friendly medium, which harmonised the seeds with the dissemination habits of birds and animals. The choice of what creative project and photo you take is up to you. Enjoy and have fun.
